REACH

REACH is Regulation of European Parliament and of the Council No. 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals.

This Regulation should ensure a high level of protection of human health. REACH is concerned substances, mixtures and articles. The legal obligations of suppliers of substances and mixtures for supply chain information are in Articles No: 31 and 32. If the substance or mixture covered by this safety data sheet is the subject of specific provisions in relation to the protection of human health or the environment at Community level (authorisation or restriction), these provisions shall be stated in Safety Data Sheet (Anex II. of REACH).

One of the statutory obligations regarding the supply of articles is in Article No. 33: any supplier of an article containing a substance of very high concern listed on the candidate list (SVHC), available on the website: https://echa.europa.eu/candidate-list-table) in a concentration above 0,1% weight by weight (w/w), shall provide the recipient of the article with sufficient information to allow the safe use of the article, including as a minimum the name of that substance.

All substances higher than 1 tonne per year are subject to registration. Unregistered chemicals must not be placed in the market or used, unless registration is subject to the REACH exemption.
